Cloud Architecture & Implementation

Cloud architecture and integration built around your workload.

ECS assesses application workloads and proposes scoped architecture, migration or integration work for AWS or Google Cloud where the required delivery capability is available. The proposal identifies services, regions, responsibilities, dependencies and any specialist credentials required.

Cloud Without an Operating Plan Creates New Problems

Moving a server is not the same as improving the system.

Cloud decisions affect access, reliability, performance, cost, backup, monitoring and support. A useful plan must explain what moves, what changes, what remains connected and who operates the environment after go-live.

The work begins with the application, data, users, risk and operating needs — so the target design remains connected to business use and delivery reality.

Assess → Design → Implement → Operate

Practical support across the cloud lifecycle.

Cloud Assessment & Roadmap

Review the workload, dependencies, data, users, current costs, security needs and business reason for change. Recommend whether to retain, rehost, replatform, refactor or replace each relevant component.

Solution Architecture

Design the target environment across accounts, identity and access, network boundaries, compute, data, integration, observability, backup and recovery requirements.

Migration & Modernisation

Plan the move in manageable stages. Test applications, integrations and operational procedures before switching critical workloads.

Application & Data Integration

Connect cloud-hosted applications with CRM, ERP/accounting, portals, analytics, document systems and approved third-party services.

Monitoring, Continuity & Optimisation

Define monitoring, alerting, backup, recovery, lifecycle and cost-review practices for the agreed environment. Ongoing operations and response commitments belong in the service scope.

Choose for the Workload

Architecture decisions should follow requirements.

ECS assesses AWS or Google Cloud for the proposed workload. Exact services, regions, delivery capability and support responsibilities are confirmed before the engagement is committed.

Platform

Amazon Web Services

Use AWS services where they fit the workload, region, integration and operating model. Architecture reviews should consider the six areas in the AWS Well-Architected Framework: operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimisation and sustainability.

Platform

Google Cloud

Use Google Cloud where its infrastructure, data, application or analytics services fit the requirement. Google Cloud’s Well-Architected guidance similarly focuses on security, reliability, operational excellence, performance, cost and sustainability.

Who Owns What

Define responsibility before implementation.

Every scoped cloud engagement documents these boundaries clearly — before build begins.

How Engagements Are Structured

From workload review to live environment.

01 · Understand

Workload & Goal

Map the application, business reason for change and what the environment must support after go-live.

02 · Assess

Risk & Readiness

Review dependencies, data, security, cost and operating readiness before committing to a design.

03 · Design

Architecture & Plan

Document the target architecture, migration stages, responsibilities and rollback criteria.

04 · Implement

Build & Validate

Deploy in agreed stages with acceptance criteria, rollback readiness and live validation at each stage.

05 · Stay Involved

Support & Optimise

Continue through the support and optimisation arrangements agreed in the proposal.

Common Questions

Frequently asked.

Does ECS work with AWS and Google Cloud?

ECS can assess AWS or Google Cloud for the proposed workload. Exact services, regions, delivery capability and support responsibilities are confirmed before the engagement is committed.

Which cloud should we choose?

The answer depends on the application, data, team capability, integrations, region, security requirements and commercial model. ECS recommends an architecture after assessing the workload — not after reviewing a vendor preference.

Can ECS migrate an existing application?

Migration feasibility is confirmed through technical assessment. The resulting plan may retain, rehost, replatform, refactor or replace components, with testing, rollback and acceptance criteria agreed before migration begins.

Can you connect cloud applications with our existing systems?

Potentially. ECS reviews APIs, networks, identity, data ownership and failure handling before confirming the integration design. Specific integration methods are named after feasibility is checked.

Do you provide ongoing cloud support?

Ongoing monitoring, maintenance and optimisation can be scoped. Coverage, response targets and responsibilities must be stated in the proposal — this page does not promise a universal managed-service SLA.

Bring us the workload, not a cloud shopping list.

We will map what the application needs, what should move and what the operating model must cover. In the working session, we map the workload, dependencies, target outcome and responsibility boundary. You receive the process map whether or not you work with ECS.
