BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE · AI

See what is happening. Act on what needs attention.

ECS builds business intelligence and AI solutions that give decision-makers visibility across operations and automate the analysis that currently depends on manual effort. Each solution is designed around the specific decisions your team makes and the data you already hold.

WHEN DATA EXISTS BUT ANSWERS DON’T

The data is in the system. The question is whether anyone can see the answer.

Most organisations hold more operational data than they use. Reports are assembled manually. Dashboards show figures without context. Managers ask for numbers that take hours to produce. ECS builds BI and AI solutions that turn your existing data into a working picture of what is happening—and surface what needs attention before it becomes a problem.

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

Visibility across operations—built around the decisions you make.

Operational Dashboards

Role-specific views that show the figures each team needs without requiring someone to pull and format them. Refreshed automatically. Shared by link. Available from any device.

Management Reporting

Structured reports for leadership, department heads and board review. Delivered on schedule in the format the audience uses—removing manual assembly from the team’s weekly cycle.

Data Integration & Consolidation

Pull data from multiple source systems into a single, consistent view. Feasibility depends on source APIs, data quality and agreed field mapping—confirmed by ECS before committing to an integration.

Exception & Threshold Alerts

Set thresholds and trigger alerts when a figure moves outside agreed bounds. The right person receives the alert with context—without anyone monitoring a dashboard continuously.

AI CAPABILITIES

Practical AI—applied where it reduces effort and improves accuracy.

ECS applies AI to the steps where automation of analysis or language tasks reduces genuine effort—not as a trend, but where the business case is clear. Each capability is assessed against your data, systems and the specific decision it would support.

Predictive Alerts & Forecasting

Use patterns in your operational data to surface likely outcomes before they occur. Applicable where sufficient clean historical data exists. ECS assesses data quality before confirming feasibility.

Document & Data Extraction

Extract structured data from unstructured sources—invoices, contracts, forms and emails—and route it into the right system field. Accuracy and scope depend on document consistency and the target system’s API.

Natural Language Querying

Let managers ask questions in plain language and receive answers from your data without writing a query or asking an analyst. Applicable where data is structured, labelled and in a suitable system.

Automated Summarisation

Generate plain-language summaries of case histories, report periods, meeting notes or customer interactions. Reduces the time spent reading through records before a decision or conversation.

HOW WE BUILD EACH SOLUTION

We start with the decision, then find the data that supports it.

01 · Define

Name the Decision

Identify the specific question or decision the solution will support and who makes it. Clarity here prevents building a dashboard no one uses.

02 · Assess

Audit the Data

Review data sources, quality, completeness and accessibility. Confirm which data supports the decision and what needs to be addressed before building.

03 · Build

Design & Configure

Build the dashboard, report, model or AI capability. Review with the decision-maker before wider release to confirm it answers the actual question.

04 · Deploy

Hand Over & Train

Deploy to the team, confirm access permissions, brief users on interpreting what they see and hand over documentation for maintenance.

Common Questions

Frequently asked.

Do we need a data warehouse or BI platform first?

Not necessarily. ECS starts from your existing systems and data. A warehouse or dedicated BI platform is recommended where data volume, complexity or reporting frequency justifies the investment—confirmed during the data audit.

Our data quality is poor. Can ECS still help?

Possibly. ECS audits data quality first. Some projects begin with a data-cleaning or data-governance phase before BI or AI work is feasible. ECS confirms what is achievable given current data quality and what would need to be addressed first.

Which tools do you use for dashboards and reporting?

ECS recommends tools based on your data sources, existing licences, team skills and reporting requirements. Common options include Power BI, Looker and native reporting within your current systems. Tool selection is confirmed after the data audit.

Is AI appropriate for our business?

Possibly. ECS assesses AI against specific use cases, not as a default. Where data is sufficient and the business case is clear, AI is a practical option. Where it is not, ECS says so and recommends what would provide better value.
